IFAI sponsors four professional certification programs that reward and recognize individuals for knowledge, skills, experience and dedication to excellence in a variety of specialty fabric product and management categories (click on the certification names to learn more):

Industrial Fabric Manager (IFM)

  • Recognizes superior knowledge of the principles and practices of business and organizational management
  • Identifies excellence in two of four specialty areas, including marketing, production, finance or personnel
  • Requires five or more years in specialty fabric business management

Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC)

  • Highest level of professional certification for fabricators
  • Identifies excellence in all phases of product design, craftsmanship and installation
  • Requires five or more years manufacturing specialty fabric products

Certified Craftsman (CC)

  • Recognizes professionals who have a fundamental level of skill and knowledge in manufacturing specialty fabric products
  • Identifies standard principles of product design, craftsmanship and installation
  • Requires three or more years of manufacturing specialty fabric products

Certified Project Planner (CPP)

  • Identifies excellence in product design, cost estimating and site inspection
  • Recognizes superior skills in salesmanship and customer involvement
  • Requires three or more years in product design and customer relations
